Evasive Dash
LightA few quick dashes to close distance or dodge out of harm's way
S10 nerfed cooldown 6.5→7.5s. Still most popular Light spec but less spammable
A community tier list of every specialization in THE FINALS: what each ability does, the tier it sits at this patch, who to pair it with, and how to counter it. Updated for the current patch.
The best specializations in THE FINALS Season 10 are Evasive Dash for Light, Healing Beam for Medium, and Winch Claw for Heavy, the top meta pick in each class by community and pro-scene consensus. Each class has a strong runner-up: Cloaking Device (Light), Dematerializer (Medium), Mesh Shield (Heavy). Tiers below are current as of Patch 10.12.0. For weapon rankings see the weapon tier list; for full builds see the meta loadouts.
A few quick dashes to close distance or dodge out of harm's way
S10 nerfed cooldown 6.5→7.5s. Still most popular Light spec but less spammable
A temporary cloak that makes you hard to see when moving, and invisible when motionless
S10 buffed duration: min 11→13s, max 27→29s. With Vanishing Bomb nerfed in 10.6.0, Cloak has a little more room as the stealth slot even if Dash remains the default ranked pick.
A cord with a hook that you launch to scale structures and swing past walls. Also handy for quick escapes during combat
S10 buffed cooldown 8→7s. Small but meaningful buff to compete with dash
A beam that gives health directly to another teammate
Still S-tier but slightly less dominant as DMAT and Shockwave offer viable alternatives
A tool that temporarily dematerializes physical surfaces in the arena, allowing any contestant to see or pass through them. It can also make these surfaces rematerialize.
S10 buffed ammo 2→3 but cooldown 10→20s - creators call it 'pretty hot atm.' FCAR+Demat is the #2 Medium build per Appoh/JatsFPS. Three charges restored aggressive wall-cutting plays.
Throw an orb that creates a shockwave on impact, knocking opponents and objects away from the blast.
A-tier Medium specialization that defines the Aerialist identity. 10.6.0 restored the stronger Shockwave + Jump Pad launch after 10.3 over-constrained it, and early community reaction was immediate relief that the movement tech is back.
Deployable AI-controlled assault rifle
S10 already sped up turret rotation and setup, and 10.6.0 widened vertical vision from ±45° to ±60°. Helpful for high-ground fights, but community consensus still keeps it out of top Medium specs.
Launches a chain claw that latches on to objects or contestants, pulling them in closer to you
Defines Heavy's role. Essential for mobility, Cashout theft, and repositioning. Nothing else gives Heavy this level of map presence. Shockwave is a soft counter (Medium can knock you away mid-winch)
A projected shield that blocks from the front only, creating a shoot-through cover for teammates.
Rectangle warriors unite - S9 buffed HP 750→850 + blocks Winch Claw. HHM meta cornerstone
A charge to propel you forward to break through walls and obstacles, or to slam the ground if activated in the air. Deals damage to opponents.
The bulldozer - wallhack express for bonk enthusiasts
Shoots blobs of goo that solidify on impact; useful for creating defenses
The cement mixer - now blocks dashes and grapples, even more oppressive
The top meta specializations in THE FINALS Season 10 are Evasive Dash for Light, Healing Beam for Medium, and Winch Claw for Heavy. Each is the consensus best pick in its class for the current patch.
Evasive Dash is the best Light specialization this season, with Cloaking Device the strongest alternative.
Healing Beam is the best Medium specialization this season, with Dematerializer the strongest alternative.
Winch Claw is the best Heavy specialization this season, with Mesh Shield the strongest alternative.
Not as strictly. THE FINALS has a stable meta core of specializations the community agrees on (Evasive Dash, Healing Beam, Winch Claw, Dematerializer, Mesh Shield), but several mid-tier abilities are genuinely situational and ranked differently by different sources. The tiers here reflect current community and pro-scene consensus for Patch 10.12.0, not a fixed ranking.
