Embark's September 18 announcement gives October 20, 2026 for the next season, and its roadmap shows the same date under PRIME TIME. Embark explicitly calls the upcoming season Season 12 in its October 13 Respec retrospective.

Official launch: October 20 at 13:00 UTC. Embark's October 19 announcement and timezone graphic confirm 6:00 AM PDT in Los Angeles, 9:00 AM EDT in New York, 2:00 PM BST in London and 3:00 PM CEST in Stockholm. The official launch stream starts 30 minutes earlier, at 12:30 UTC (5:30 AM PDT / 8:30 AM EDT / 14:30 CEST).

Launch verified: Embark has published the live 12.0.0 update. The exact earlier Season 11 World Tour cutoff was not established by the launch hour. Season 12 now progresses World Tour ranks with Fans; the existing tracker still uses Season 11 points and must not be used as a Season 12 Fans calculator.

The quick answer

THE FINALS Season 12, PRIME TIME, is live as of October 20, 2026. Embark's 12.0.0 launch notes confirm the Infiltrator Light Playstyle, Solo Showdown beta and its eight mini-modes, Dynamic Commentary beta, arena and destruction reworks, and the new Sponsor Journey. Light now has 175 HP and Heavy 325 HP. World Tour progression uses Fans instead of points, old unearned Sponsor rewards are gone, and the Premium and Ultimate Battle Pass details are published. Read our balance summary or jump to the launch essentials.

On the show

What's new in PRIME TIME

The official roadmap groups the season into new ways to play, the game show (Sponsor journey, UI and HUD, match presentation), arena reworks, destruction and dynamism, and gameplay and audio (balance, performance and reworked footsteps).

Seg 01Official reveal / October 7

The Infiltrator: new Light Specialization and Gadgets

Light's fourth Playstyle is the Infiltrator, built around detection, disguise and repositioning. Design director Matt Lowe introduces three items in Embark's official reveal; the roadmap names them too.

Specialization

True Sight

A reimagining of Thermal Vision. It highlights enemies and deployables, reveals cloaked or disguised players, and sees through environmental smoke and Smoke Grenades. Highlighted targets retain team colours. Keeping it active drains an energy meter.

Gadget

Mimic Device

Scan an arena prop to temporarily take its appearance. Some disguises also inherit the prop's function: Embark shows canister and healing-barrel examples. Damage can trigger those effects.

Gadget

Translocator

Mark an object, then activate the device to swap positions with it while it remains in range. Embark's examples include moving an enemy turret away from an objective and swapping with a thrown canister.

How to counter it, from the reveal

True Sight is itself a counter: it reveals cloaked and disguised players. The reveal also warns that an enemy Data Reshaper is dangerous to a disguised player. The launch notes confirm the additions but do not give their full numerical range or cooldown stats.

Destruction, smoke and gas: what changes?

Embark's Dynamism Upgrade video explains a new layer between intact structures and fully detached rubble. Damaged pieces can remain loosely connected, bending and swinging into ramps, distorted rooms or sagging floors. Suspended structures can swing and eventually collapse.

  • Readable damage: dust, creaking sounds and new effects signal weakening structures. Debris forms new piles.
  • Blast waves: weapon explosions can push walls, bend ceilings and move roof sections.
  • Smoke and poison gas: clouds adapt to changing geometry and, according to Embark, will no longer affect players through walls. Explosions can briefly clear parts of a cloud.

These systems are now part of 12.0. Embark says Gradual Destruction is enabled game-wide; live performance has not been independently benchmarked here.

Arena reworks: Monaco, Seoul and Skyway Stadium

MonacoSeoulSkyway Stadium

World director Joakim Stigsson names Monaco, Seoul and Skyway Stadium as the first arenas being reworked. Changes include new spaces and landmarks, revised areas, clearer sightlines and new traversal options. Embark plans to explore changes to other maps in later seasons.

The preview also describes distinct Sponsor identities for each arena, revised lighting and colour grading, updated props and materials, and new destruction assets. Gradual destruction and hinging let structures come apart in more varied ways. The launch also reworks Las Vegas Stadium sightlines and power positions, brings back Las Vegas Sandstorm and removes original Las Vegas for now. A launch Cashout playlist showcases the four reworked arenas. These are existing arenas, not a brand-new map.

HUD & UI rework: a customizable HUD and new menus

Embark's HUD & UI REWORK video walks through a rebuilt HUD and menus arriving with PRIME TIME. The aim, in Embark's words, is not to show more, but to show what you need, when you need it.

  • Legibility pass: text that was too small to catch mid-fight is easier to read, while keeping THE FINALS look.
  • HUD scale and ultrawide: the preview showed scaling and ultrawide plans. The October 21 update says restoration of ultrawide support is still upcoming.
  • Side panel: key information and actions without leaving the match view, so you get back into the game faster.
  • Quick Settings tab: volume, quality and sensitivity seconds away. You choose what appears there.
  • Main menu: visually cleaner, with the most-used actions easiest to reach and new navigation on PC and console.

Solo Showdown: 12 players, three rounds, one winner

Solo Showdown is live in beta. The official roadmap confirms a solo tournament with three rounds randomly drawn from eight mini-modes. Each round lasts roughly five minutes. Earn cash to qualify: the four lowest earners drop out between rounds, leaving a final round to decide the champion. Watch Matt Lowe's developer reveal.

All eight mini-modes in 12.0

  • Blast Off!: a Grenade Launcher and Dash for airborne fights.
  • Heavy Hitters: Sledgehammer and Charge 'N' Slam; lower health means greater knockback.
  • Boom Brawl: Sword and Dash; eliminated players leave an explosive surprise.
  • Slam-A-Rama: Jump Pad and an overpowered Charge 'N' Slam.
  • Sniper Standoff: Grapple Hook positioning and sniper fights.
  • Winch Wars: extended Winch and stronger kicks and punches to knock opponents off edges.
  • Turbo Tussle: Shotgun and Dash at high speed.
  • One and Gunned: one Revolver bullet; a shot or kick eliminates, and eliminations earn more bullets.

Mode-specific rules: these modifiers do not buff the same equipment in standard modes. Solo Showdown has no leaderboard in 12.0; Embark plans to add one after the start of the season. Official launch rules.

Seg 06Official reveal / October 14

Sponsor Journey: three Sponsors, three Handlers

Choose OSPUZE, ALFA ACTA or ISEUL-T and follow their story through in-arena Challenges. Each Sponsor assigns a Handler: Rico Rampage for OSPUZE, Grandma McJohnson for ALFA ACTA and Ramona for ISEUL-T. Watch the October 14 developer preview.

Challenges and Contracts unlock free expressions, weapon skins and outfits. Story unlocks include voicemails, correspondence and in-world podcasts. Sponsors also offer new ways to earn Fans, which now progress your World Tour rank. Embark has not published the full rank thresholds or reward requirements.

How progression works now: Sponsors unlock after at least four matches. You can switch freely between Sponsors. A Challenge contains three to five Contracts; progress is saved when changing Challenges, but only the active Challenge advances. Each Sponsor's Signature Plays award Fans only while you are signed to that Sponsor.

What happened to the old rewards? The launch FAQ confirms you keep earned Sponsor rewards, while unearned old rewards are gone. OSPUZE, ALFA ACTA and ISEUL-T are permanent additions, with future Sponsors intended to join rather than replace them.

World Tour uses Fans now. Positive match actions, Signature Plays and Seasonal Events contribute Fans. The old points calculator and its 2,400-point Emerald target are Season 11 references, not verified Season 12 rank thresholds.

Seg 07Confirmed / October 13

Respec health and movement changes become permanent

Light now has 175 health and slightly slower movement; Heavy has 325 health and slightly faster movement. Embark confirmed permanent adoption for Season 12 in its October 13 Respec Order retrospective. Medium health stays at 250. The 12.0 launch notes apply these changes. The former Season 11 baseline was Light 150 HP and Heavy 350 HP.

The major balance patch is live. Forward sprint speed changes from 7 to 6.6 m/s for Light and 5.8 to 6 m/s for Heavy. CB-01 Repeater, MGL32 and P90 gain damage, while LH1 and KS-23 lose damage. XP-54 magazine capacity falls from 36 to 34, and Sword primary-attack damage also falls. See exact values and all balance changes.

Historical comparison: health changes in isolation

This historical tool holds Season 11 weapon damage fixed to isolate the health change. It does not use the live 12.0 damage changes. For actual Season 12 values, open the current TTK table.

The calculator needs JavaScript. See every weapon's current time to kill.

Health only: Light 150 → 175, Medium 250, Heavy 350 → 325. Shots to kill = health ÷ body damage, rounded up, before falloff and without headshots. Shotgun values use full-shell damage. Season 12 weapon damage is published; this historical comparison intentionally keeps Season 11 damage unchanged.

Dynamic Commentary: Scotty calls out your plays by name

Dynamic Commentary is live in beta. In Embark's developer reveal, Scotty can mention contestants by name after selected gameplay moments, such as team wipes and revive streaks.

  • Reactive commentary: new lines use the match context in real time and play alongside existing pre-made commentary.
  • A limited first version: Embark is starting with a curated set of events, aiming for a handful of comments per match and expanding gradually.
  • Name privacy: Anonymous Mode prevents your name being called out to anyone on the server. Streamer Mode prevents lines mentioning other players from playing in your game, according to the launch notes.

The updated official roadmap also lists a footsteps rework, new voice technology for Sponsor Handlers, and new voice effects, lines and sound effects.

First Season 12 hotfix: what is fixed, what is next?

The published hotfix addresses PS5 and Xbox loading crashes, loadout swapping after elimination in some modes, Guardian Turret detection and Grappling Hook activation before its cooldown resets. It also fixes the M60 Murky Business skin’s sight obstruction and the missing Cold Brew-Tality sticker.

Still upcoming: the HUD-glow toggle, shotgun pellet hitmarker improvements, restoration of ultrawide support, and Daily/Weekly Contracts completing in bot matches. Embark says it is working on these; they are not delivered by this hotfix, and no date is specified.

12.0 launch essentials

The official PRIME TIME notes are published. These are the key changes beyond the earlier previews.

  • Balance and utility: Frag Grenade max damage rises from 140 to 165, Explosive Mine from 120 to 145, and Sonar Grenade is now available to Medium as well as Light. Dome Shield has 600 health but loses 100 health per second. Full 12.0 balance summary.
  • Cashout pacing: Vault opening takes 10 seconds instead of 20, spawn previews take 5 instead of 15, normal rounds last 9.5 minutes and final rounds 14 minutes. Double Jump replaces Low Gravity; Mega Damage also leaves the event rotation.
  • Unlocks: VRs are removed. Items unlock with their parent Playstyle via Playstyle Tokens or are automatically unlocked.
  • HUD and sound: independently scale HUD and in-world elements; adjust HUD aspect ratio; hear enemy footsteps prioritized in the mix. A HUD-glow off switch is not available in 12.0, but Embark is working on it.

Season 12 Battle Pass

Free, Premium and Ultimate options are available. Premium offers up to 106 rewards, including bonus pages, and up to 1,650 Multibucks to earn. Ultimate adds 12 rewards, starts you with 20 levels (excluding bonus levels), and includes a 25% Match XP boost; its advertised 2,650 Multibucks includes 1,000 immediately. The Season 9 pass joins the legacy roster. The launch post does not list purchase prices or every reward. Embark published its official Battle Pass showcase on October 21.

Launch events and Twitch Drops

Frights Galore offers 20 wheel prizes, with daily Contracts awarding up to three tickets per day and the Underworld Outcast Outfit as a collection reward. Bebe the Barricade Twitch Drops run through November 5: watch one hour for the Meet Bebe Sticker, two hours for the Pocket Bebe Charm and four hours for Bebe the Barricade. What has not been announced?

As of October 21, the launch is confirmed. These remaining details are not established in the sources checked.

World Tour thresholds and season end
Fans replace World Tour points, but verified rank thresholds, the Season 12 end date and exact earlier Season 11 cutoff are not supplied in the launch notes. The S11 tracker cannot calculate S12 Fans progress.
Full equipment stats
The Infiltrator items are live. Full numerical range, duration and cooldown records for all three additions still need primary verification.
Battle Pass pricing and full catalog
Premium and Ultimate reward counts and benefits are confirmed. Purchase prices and an exhaustive item list are not given in the launch post.
Upcoming fixes
Solo Showdown’s leaderboard remains planned after 12.0. On October 21, Embark also lists the HUD-glow toggle, shotgun pellet hitmarkers, ultrawide restoration and bot-match Daily/Weekly Contracts as work in progress. No delivery date is confirmed here.

Claims we could not confirm

  • "P90 and BFR Titan are new weapons." Both are already in the game. No new PRIME TIME weapon is confirmed.
  • "October 22" or "October 23." Earlier estimates. Embark announced October 20.
Developer comments reported by Dot Esports

Why is it being called the biggest season?

Dot Esports' roadmap coverage attributes that ambition to creative director Gustav Tilleby in the Season 10 reveal panel, describing a season that moves the game closer to its original vision.

In a separate May interview with Dot Esports, design director Matt Lowe discussed a yearly cadence of three regular seasons and one larger release, intended to attract new and returning players. That adds context to the scale of Season 12, but does not confirm a quantity of maps, weapons, or modes.

A useful distinction: Unreal Engine 5.7 is already part of Season 11. Update 11.7.0 explicitly lists fixes for crashes introduced with that upgrade. It should not be counted as a newly announced Season 12 feature.

Season 12 questions, answered

What does the October 21 Season 12 hotfix fix?

The published hotfix fixes PS5 and Xbox loading crashes, loadout swaps after elimination in some modes, Guardian Turret target detection, early Grappling Hook activation and two cosmetic issues. Ultrawide support restoration, a HUD-glow toggle, shotgun pellet hitmarker improvements and Daily/Weekly Contract completion in bot matches are upcoming work, not fixes delivered in this update.

When does THE FINALS Season 12 come out?

Season 12, PRIME TIME, launched October 20, 2026. Embark announced 13:00 UTC (6 AM PDT, 9 AM EDT, 15:00 CEST), and published the live 12.0.0 update that day.

What time does THE FINALS Season 12 launch?

The announced launch was October 20, 2026 at 13:00 UTC: 6 AM PDT in Los Angeles, 9 AM EDT in New York, 2 PM BST in London and 3 PM CEST in Stockholm. Season 12 is now live. This launch time does not establish the exact earlier Season 11 World Tour cutoff.

Is October 23 the confirmed Season 12 release date?

No. Season 12 launched October 20, 2026. October 22 and 23 were earlier estimates, superseded by Embark’s announcement and published 12.0.0 launch notes.

Where can I watch the PRIME TIME gameplay trailer?

Watch the official October 15 gameplay trailer and October 20 Welcome to PRIME TIME launch video in this page’s video section or on THE FINALS YouTube channel.

What is Solo Showdown in THE FINALS?

Solo Showdown is a live beta solo tournament with twelve players and three rounds randomly selected from eight mini-modes. The four lowest cash earners are eliminated between rounds, and the final’s highest earner wins. The modes are Blast Off!, Heavy Hitters, Boom Brawl, Slam-A-Rama, Sniper Standoff, Winch Wars, Turbo Tussle and One and Gunned. No leaderboard ships in 12.0.

What is Dynamic Commentary in THE FINALS?

Dynamic Commentary is a live Season 12 beta. Scotty can name contestants after selected gameplay moments, mixing real-time lines with existing commentary. Anonymous Mode prevents your name being called out to anyone on the server. Streamer Mode prevents lines mentioning other players from playing in your game. Embark targets a handful of comments per match while expanding gradually.

What is confirmed for THE FINALS Season 12?

The live 12.0 update includes the Infiltrator with True Sight, Mimic Device and Translocator; Solo Showdown and Dynamic Commentary betas; arena and destruction reworks; a new HUD; Sponsor Challenges and Fans-based World Tour progression; Battle Pass options; and permanent Light 175 HP and Heavy 325 HP with a major balance patch.

What is in the PRIME TIME HUD rework?

The HUD rework adds clearer text, scaling, a side panel and customizable Quick Settings. Although the preview discussed ultrawide support, Embark’s October 21 update says restoring it is still being worked on. The HUD-glow toggle and shotgun pellet hitmarker improvements are also upcoming, with no release date confirmed.

Are Season 12 weapons, maps, or a Battle Pass revealed?

The launch notes confirm the Infiltrator items, existing arena reworks including Las Vegas Stadium and the return of Las Vegas Sandstorm. They do not announce a brand-new weapon or arena. Premium Battle Pass offers up to 106 rewards and 1,650 Multibucks to earn; Ultimate adds 12 rewards, 20 starting levels excluding bonus levels, a 25% Match XP boost and 2,650 Multibucks including 1,000 immediately.

What happens to Sponsors in Season 12?

OSPUZE, ALFA ACTA and ISEUL-T are permanent Sponsor options. Sponsors unlock after at least four matches and can be switched freely. Challenges contain three to five Contracts, and only the active Challenge advances. Fans from positive actions, Signature Plays and Seasonal Events progress World Tour rank. Earned old Sponsor rewards are kept; unearned old rewards are gone.

Will Respec Order become permanent in Season 12?

Yes. The live 12.0 update makes Light 175 HP and Heavy 325 HP permanent, with Medium remaining 250 HP. Light forward sprint speed falls from 7 to 6.6 m/s and Heavy rises from 5.8 to 6 m/s. Weapon and gadget balance changes are also live; use the current TTK table rather than the historical health-only comparison.

Is Season 12 the biggest season of THE FINALS?

It is being described that way ahead of launch. Dot Esports reports that Gustav Tilleby presented Season 12 as the biggest season since launch. That describes Embark's ambition, not a verified count of maps, weapons, or modes.

Is Season 12 out yet, and when does Season 11 end?

Yes. PRIME TIME launched October 20, 2026 and the official 12.0.0 notes are published. Season 11 is no longer current. Its exact World Tour cutoff hour was not established by the Season 12 launch time. Season 12 uses Fans instead of World Tour points; the existing tracker remains an S11 points reference.
